Karolinska University Hospital's clinical microbiology laboratory has selected Solu to scale its WGS analysis and reporting.

Solu identifies a plasmid's AMR and virulence genes, integrons, IS elements, replication and transfer machinery, and all other coding sequences. It then draws them on a clear map you can explore, adjust, and export.

Solu now annotates plasmids and maps what they carry. This post covers why we built it, what you can see and how we designed it.

Solu's new sample reports gather a sample's AMR, typing, virulence, quality results, and its position in the phylogeny into one customizable document you can build in seconds and share as a PDF or link.

In a busy Wellington lab, Dr Max Bloomfield and his team have built a fast, high-resolution sequencing pipeline that has cut bioinformatics turnaround from weeks to minutes. Today infection control teams around the country come to study his approach.

Solu now offers cgMLST, a second way to compare your samples. Built on community-standard schemes and validated against published studies, it makes results comparable across institutions.

A reproducibility and concordance study validating Solu's cgMLST implementation across seven schemes and eleven bacterial species, showing it recovers epidemiologically verified clusters from published outbreaks and agrees closely with Solu's independent SNP phylogeny.

Whole genome sequencing has become standard in microbiology, but bioinformatics expertise has not. Dr Doug Browning at Aston University is one of the researchers working in that gap, and one of Solu's most active users.

Real-time genomic surveillance prevented 62 infections and saved $695,000 at a single hospital in two years, but those results depend on trustworthy data. Learn how Solu integrates quality control directly into the surveillance pipeline, turning QC flags into actionable next steps in minutes.

Hospitals run genomic surveillance, but the useful information that lives in someone's email or a spreadsheet gets forgotten. We built cluster notes so you can write that context straight into your analyzed data, where everyone on the team can actually find it.

New research showed that 60% of carbapenemase spread happened through plasmids. Yet standard pipelines still fail to scan for horizontal spread. Expect to learn why plasmid-aware surveillance is now more essential than ever for effective genomic surveillance.

Explore Pulse, Solu's integrated plasmid detection feature delivering real-time horizontal transmission surveillance.

Standard genomic surveillance misses plasmids. Solu's platform reconstructs them from raw sequencing data in minutes, revealing lost horizontal transmissions. From hospital sample to genomic insight, expect to learn how Solu helps in turning invisible threats into actionable data for infection control teams.

Horizontal gene transfer accelerates the emergence of drug-resistant infections and reshapes outbreak management. Resistant infections lead to longer hospital stays, higher readmission rates, and rising healthcare costs. Expect to learn more about horizontal spread and how Solu accounts for it in genomic surveillance to prevent epidemics.

Antimicrobial resistance already costs $66B annually, projected to rise to $159B by 2050. Discover why immediate action and strategic investment deliver a 28:1 ROI for healthcare systems.

This blog post leads you through our methodology and answers the questions of how is the analysis and the most complex part, biology, is covered.

Compare the Solu Platform to conventional command-line pipelines. See how Solu's automated, cloud-based workflow delivers results in minutes, not days.

Detecting outbreaks promptly is essential for patient safety and the continuity of hospital operations. Early identification of infection clusters enables rapid intervention, helping curb transmission and maintain operational stability during peak admission periods. Therefore, optimized workflows, particularly ahead of high-volume seasons, improve response times, minimize errors, and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.

Whole genome sequencing (WGS) is a powerful tool for understanding and preventing infections. By reading the complete DNA sequence of an organism, WGS can help identify and track the spread of pathogens. This guide will explain how WGS works, its applications in healthcare, and its potential to improve infection control.
